One Good Thing

what do you eat when you feel sick?

ogt_eatwhenyouresick

Usually on a Sunday I like to look back over the week’s tinkerings in the kitchen and have a chat about something delicious that I’ve either made or eaten. The trouble is today that I have barely eaten all week.

Nausea really cramps a girl’s style.

In fact, all I can stomach right now is salt and vinegar chips.

I know, I know. This is a bogus (bogan?) sort of remedy. But salt and vinegar chips are my go-to sick day food, especially when I feel queasy. I can keep them down just fine. I always seem to crave salt after a few days of feeling yuck. The vinegar helps too. I don’t know why. Science or magic?

To make sure that I’ve had at least something in my stomach, I’ve also been nibbling on Vegemite toast and sipping coconut water these last few days.

I very rarely lose my appetite but congee or crackers.

Pretzels and definitely salt and vinegar chips. Sometimes, when I used to feel barfy or migrainey, I’d sip on miso soup. When I get a migraine hangover I often crave either cinnamon donuts or KFC chips.

sorry you’re not feeling well Amber. Scrambled eggs with plenty of salt is good.
