Best of the Blogs: July 2012
Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month, yeah? August. Four weeks of winter remain (well, technically), and then lovely spring will begin to slip in, lengthening evenings and breathing green over the frost-bleached grasses shrubs. I can’t wait.
Here are my picks from the blogosphere for July:
Food + Drink
▸ Homemade Horchata (a traditional rice and nut milk from Latin America) by Cookie and Kate.
▸ Mocha granita? Thanks, A Cozy Kitchen. Don’t mind if I do.
▸ Cold brew coffee. Maybe once the weather turns less inclement, I will try Vanilla and Lace‘s instructions.
▸ Something a little warmer and winter-friendly: potato, broccoli, and parmesan soup by Add to Cart blog.
▸ And as if good old round macarons were not difficult enough… These ice cream cone macarons by Raspberri Cupcakes are as cute as a button. Or as cute as miniature ice cream cones.
Art, Design + Photog etc
▸ 10 favourite photo-editing apps compiled by Design*Sponge.
▸ Lovely new letterpressed business cards (and square! I love!) by Emma Dime.
▸ Portraits by Ryan Pickart found by Miss Moss (I wouldn’t mind being one of ‘Ryan’s girls’ either).
▸ A catalogue of high-resolution textures, generously signposted by Breanna Rose.
▸ Fun, fruity food watercolours by the inimitable Paperfashion.
(Gosh, is everyone making GIFs these days? I’m always one step behind.)
▸ Get lost in this roundup of beach shacks by Size Too Small. Say it with me now: ‘I want to go to there.’
▸ In memoriam to a beautiful dog. We feel your loss, Citrus and Candy. Dogs are people too.
▸ A definition of ’tilt shift’ by The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows. I want to cuddle this blog, I love it so.
And just for fun… a visual hunt for the best word ever, discovered by Design Crush. Personally, I like ‘nostril’ and ‘indefatigable’. You?
